A square is a quadrilateral with four right angles and four congruent sides. A square has four sides that are all the same length and whose angles are all right angles measuring 90 degrees. Watch Construction of Square Video to learn more.
A Square is a flat shape with 4 equal sides and every angle is a right angle (90°). A square is simply a specific case of a regular polygon, in this case with 4 sides. All the facts and properties described for regular polygons apply to a square. The vertex (plural: vertices) is a corner of the square. Every square has four vertices. The distance around the square. All four sides are by definition the same length, so the perimeter is four times the length of one side, or: perimeter = 4 s , where s is the length of one side.Like most quadrilaterals, the area is the length of one side times the perpendicular height. So in a square this is simply: area = s×s , where s is the length of one side.
Example of construction
Construct a square whose each side measure 5cm.
1]draw base 5 cm
2] draw angles from both end points of 90 degrees
3] from first end point mark an arc of 5 cm same from other
4] join the points of intersection of two arcs to the segments that is the 90 degrees lines .
